Who uses Clip Engine
Clip Engine is a private tool used only by the owner of one YouTube channel. Nobody else can sign in to it.
What Google data it accesses
When the channel owner signs in with Google, Clip Engine asks for one permission:
View YouTube Analytics reports for your YouTube content (scope yt-analytics.readonly).
It reads aggregate reports about the owner's own channel: views, watch time, average view duration,
subscribers gained, viewer countries and traffic sources. It does not access email, contacts, files or any
other Google data, and it cannot change anything on YouTube.
How the data is used
The reports are used only to measure how the channel's own videos perform and to decide which kinds of videos to make next. They are stored as summary tables in the owner's private storage.
Sharing
The data is not sold, shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
Limited Use
Clip Engine's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Keeping and deleting data
The access permission is stored encrypted and can be removed at any time from your Google Account's third-party access page. Removing it stops all access immediately; the owner can delete the stored summary tables at any time.
